His Table & Mine

A Treasured Collection of Recipes Poetry

His Table & Mine is far more than a collection of recipes, it is an invitation into a life lived around the table, where food, faith, memory, and community weave together into something sacred.

Through heartfelt storytelling, soul-stirring poetry, and a lifetime of cherished dishes, Susan Baldi, affectionately known as “Mamma,” offers a cookbook that nourishes both body and spirit. Read more

The journey begins at His Table, where readers are reminded of Christ’s unfathomable love and the divine invitation to rest, belong, and be renewed. Scripture, poetry, and reflection illuminate the spiritual significance of gathering, feasting, and receiving God’s grace. It is a gentle call to sit, to savor, and to be transformed.

From there, readers are welcomed to My Table, where Susan shares her vibrant upbringing in the small mountain town of McCloud, California, surrounded by Italian tradition, family gardens, old-world cooking, and a community knit tightly together. She recounts childhood meals, the women who shaped her love for the kitchen, seasons of heartbreak that left her table empty, and the redemptive work of God that brought life, joy, and celebration back to that same table once again.

Across more than a dozen recipe chapters, from appetizers and breads to pasta, soups, sides, and sweets, Susan offers dishes refined over decades of cooking for family, friends, pastors, neighbors, and even elite guests at a private resort. Every recipe is selected with intention, perfected with patience, and presented with the warmth of someone who believes that food is an expression of love. Interwoven throughout are Susan’s original poems, crafted to comfort, inspire, and draw readers closer to the heart of Jesus.

This cookbook celebrates:

  • The sacred power of the table as a place of gathering, healing, and togetherness
  • The beauty of culinary creativity, from garden-to-table simplicity to elegant multi-course feasts
  • The joy of hospitality, where perfection is unnecessary but love is essential
  • The legacy of family and faith, carried from generation to generation through shared meals

With unforgettable stories, soul-deep reflections, and recipes that range from nostalgic comfort foods to elegant Italian favorites, His Table & Mine invites readers to rediscover the magic of slowing down, gathering close, and savoring both God’s goodness and the gift of each other.

This is not just a cookbook—it is a celebration of life, love, and the sacredness of the table. And there is always a seat waiting for you.

About the Author

Susan M. Baldi

Meet Susan Marie Baldi. Or, as many affectionately know her, “Mamma.”

Raised in the tiny mountain town of McCloud, California, nestled at the base of majestic Mt. Shasta, Susan grew up surrounded by fresh air, towering pines, and the scent of home-cooked meals wafting from her Italian family’s kitchen. From a young age, she found joy in simple things: time outdoors, the beauty of handwritten words, and the magic that happens when food and family come together around the table.

Her journey has taken many turns—professional roles, motherhood, unexpected heartbreak, and a powerful encounter with faith that reshaped her life. After leaving a career in law enforcement administration to raise her daughter, Susan navigated a difficult divorce that ultimately led her into ministry. In 2004, she became a Foursquare pastor, and for more than 30 years has served her community with heart and humility—teaching, preaching, leading retreats, mentoring women, and even traveling as far as Cambodia to care for vulnerable children.

But through it all—whether at the pulpit, on a plane, or in the kitchen—Susan’s greatest delight has always been to gather people. Around a meal. Around God’s love. Around stories. Food, for her, has never just been about ingredients; it’s about connection, comfort, and celebration.

Today, Susan continues to live out her calling as a pastor to seniors, a writer of poetry and devotions, and, perhaps most joyfully, a mom, mother-in-law, and enthusiastic host of unforgettable family dinners. She’s traveled far and wide, often with a fork in one hand and a journal in the other, taking cooking classes in Italy and beyond to bring new flavors back home.

This cookbook is more than just recipes. It’s a collection of memories, prayers, lessons, and love. May each dish and poem nourish your body, warm your spirit, and bring the people you love a little closer.
